A special feature by the Great Parade was the dedication and induction of the very first Chabad Cable Car. Taking a vintage S. Fransisco cable car, Rabbi Yosef Langer, Shliach of the Rebbe to the area, poured tremendous resources into restoring and remolding the antique to become a full-functioning mobile Chabad house to service the S.F. area.
Traveling the 8 hour drive, the Cable car was brought on a flat bed, together with Rabbi Langer's trademark motorcycle (i.e. Chabad's smallest Chabad House), to have it formally introduced by the Great Parade.
Participating the int he ribbon cutting ceremony was Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, the Rebbe's Head Shliach t the West Coast. Following the ceremony, the Cable car took it's first maiden voyage, along the parade grounds. shortly after the parade, the Chabad Cable car was carefully mounted back on to the flatbed, where it began it's 8 hour trek back north.
We thank Rabbis Yosef & Moshe Langer for allowing us the pleasure & privilege to have the honor of being the venue to present this beautiful gift to the Rebbe as well as to the world! Hatzlacha on your Shlichus in bringing light to world, spreading the love of a Jew to one another, and adding another piece to the puzzle in bringing about ht coming of Moshiach, may it happen now!
